Summer time already!

Well where has the year gone already...

You'll be pleased to hear that we have not been idle. Oh no. Research, including such efforts as yoga -ouch! - fuelled by some cups of tea, the occasional cake or 4, and even Sally Lunn Bath Buns.

And that's not all. You remember the success that the Lippy Logic veg plot has had at the annual Austwick Village produce show??? We just knew you'd be holding your breath to find out how we fared this year. could well have run away with the courgette prizes again (so we hear) with these whoppers.

Only they weren't entered what with work and holiday commitments, but they taste very nice all the same.

So watch out for our forthcoming show inspired by, oooo, our friend Jane Austen, Roman Baths, Scottish Borders, Buckler's Hard (look it up), wet and chilly weather, our new lithe physiques thanks to Iyengar yoga (they'll never believe that one Christine - Veronica) (Just show them the Roman Baths pic then V - Christine), and all the wit and wisdom we usually conjure up.

See you soon!

Christmas Lippy Logic Greetings!

Where has that year gone!

Lots of fact finding and creative visits have been done to research for our work this year. You don't think we just throw it together do you? Gyms, stately homes, museums, theatres, significant birthdays (Alright, alright, Christine - don't you dare...Veronica) have all sparked for what passes for creativity in the Lippy Logic office.

And we're delighted to say we're ready to go on the road again in 2017! Watch this space for our programme. And of course we're open to offers to bring Live Theatre to your doorstep with lots of laughter and a fair bit of drama too.

In the meantime, we'd like to wish you and your family an extremely Happy Christmas and an exciting, healthy and fun-filled 2017!

Carrying on the tradition!

Just like all great Olympians, Lippy Logic have maintained our record of a prize in consecutive Village arts and produce shows - just!

Despite low sun levels, torrential outbursts, creatures (slimey and furry), dodgy seed stock (that's our excuse and we're sticking to that one), the veg patch has rewarded efforts with a prize in the....COURGETTES!! A very quick snap as evidence...

Onions and jam also appeared, and as ever there was fierce rivalry between the two of us. This time it was the Red Currant Jelly. One wouldn't want to diss a certain very well know cook's recipe, but never has so sloppy a jelly been produced by your noble producers...

Now we're busy pouring through the Lippy Logic Song Book for a couple of events in the autumn. Private birthday functions beckon so we're trying to think of a new way of presenting Happy Birthday - any ideas friends?

Keep an eye out for news of other events, and we don't mean of the green fingered type!

Enjoy the rest of the summer

Keep Fit the Lippy Logic way

Ever keen to research and develop material for Lippy Logic, off we went to the gym on a Spa day!

The Lippy Logic Fitness Video is now in the editing suite (where's that then? C) (What's that then? V).

We investigated a range of exercise regimes - rowing....

cycling (Well after a fashion)

who can jump onto the highest pile of mats (Was this one only 3 inches high? C)
and try to stay on the wobble boards (what? with our ankles? V)
Not for the camera were the wet experiences in the spa swimming pool. Ooooeer the jacuzzi was fun but by! It weren't arf hot in the steam room...

However if the video remains in pieces on the cutting room floor, you might expect Cissie and Verna to have something to say about their day at the Spa. Watch this space

Meanwhile if the Frost doesn't get you, enjoy the Spring!

Easter Greetings!

Lambs a-gambolling, daffs-a-bursting, Easter eggs a-cracking...

Well it's high time to dust off the Lippy Logic notebooks and sharpen the pencils.

There's lots to be done between now and later in the year when we are unleashed on the world again. We've got one or two great sketches lined up. We've had lots of inspiration to draw on recently, from furniture moving to haggis chasing, dog grooming to abseilling. You'll just have to come along and see what we commit to what we laughingly call 'the script'.

And then there's getting the Lippy Logic veg patch ready. Aubergine, Dragon Fruit, Lady's Fingers, Melons: we won't be trying any of these - where do you think the veg patch is? Surbiton?

So Happy Easter and enjoy all those spring joys!

Happy Christmas from Lippy Logic!

Such excitement by the Lippy Logic Christmas Tree while we think of where to hang our Christmas Stockings....and do our Christmas photoshoot with the old Instamatic.

We've had a very busy year writing, planning, conceiving - well not literally, at our age - and performing.

Thanks very much to all those who came to our gigs - hope you're still chuckling over your mince pies.

Now we're busy with preparing the next programme. Not wanting to let any cats out of any bags, but we're looking forward to seeing Cissie and Verna's Christmas antics in the 2016 show  - (Veronica: I expect they'll be in front of the telly watching the Queen's speech on Christmas Day.  Christine: oh yes, sherry in hand and pulling a cracker - that's Cissie not HM.)

So here's wishing you fun and frolics over Christmas and peace and happiness in 2016. See you soon!

Eldroth Affected by Lippy Logic Effect!

Well, The New Bore Hole at Eldroth Parish Hall was duly welcomed with 'Gala Celebrations' as we performed The Lippy Logic Effect to good....effect.

Thanks to everyone who came to fill the house, and prepared the lovely supper and the ever patient hall committee who must have wondered what they'd let themselves in for when we arrived with the Big Top....

Here are some of the things people said afterwards, followed by the press review

Audience reactions

How hard you must have worked to put the Eldroth show together. The outpatients scene would have connected with many of our personal experiences and was hilarious from beginning to end. But ‘Pebbles on the Beach’ reached across a broader human canvas and was funny for its characters and their observations of life but also tragic for their underlying hopes, feelings and betrayals. Well done. A great evening’s entertainment.  GP

Enjoyed all the sketches, delivery and timing spot on.  JZ
I particularly liked the second half (Pebbles on the Beach) - a touch of Victoria Wood there. Christine's comic timing is brilliant. She can hold the audience then just go for the punchline. MD
I loved the Vicar[Veronica]'s voice! (Pebbles on the Beach) it was very funny watching it behind [the real vicar] and his wife. Such a lovely 'community' evening  Hilarious, a bit naughty! Something for everyone. Enjoyed every minute of it. BH
The chemistry works very well between you.The first half kicked along very well. I enjoyed how you handled people up on the stage. MP
I loved every bit of it. Well done you! IG
Not a word or note out of place. RC
The soundtrack was very effective and innovative. It added a lot to the show. GC
Brilliant!....we had a good giggle! JO

WONDERFUL performance the other night...fantastic job Lippy Logic!! SP

I laughed from start to finish, and even embarrassed myself laughing out loud sometimes! EI

Lippy Logic Larks and Laughter!

‘We’re feisty and flighty’ – is the Lippy Logic logo- and they’re very funny too!

Saturday night in Eldroth Village Hall and a crowded room sang along, waved hands in the air and joined the Lippy Logic Ladies in a resounding chorus of the LL anthem. We celebrated not doomed youth but the triumph of survival and the fun of the fifth decade and onwards.

Veronica Caperon and Christine Hooley, the Lippy Logic duo, write and perform their own material. It has its roots in their own experience of life for women ‘of a certain age’. It also draws on the rural world we know and love- the farming families, the health and safety preoccupations of the village hall committee, the renown of the local nude cafĂ©- rich seams.

‘Our very own Mel and Sue’ was the welcoming introduction - and yes- the two are witty and obviously share a great rapport. They’re also wise. After a delicious light supper we listened to a touchingly funny exchange when LL gave their audience laugh out loud lines and touchingly poignant exchanges that stilled the hall with admiration for their astute observation of human foibles.

And- we ended the evening singing together that anthem- ‘We’re here and we’re happy’.

Go and enjoy Lippy Logic – it’s a grand night out!

Thanks for all the support - and laughter!
